      Yes!

Billions of years ago, life formed from very simple chemicals that started being able to replicate. We aren’t sure how it happen but some scientist have created experiments which show it is possible! These chemicals were very primitive forms of DNA which became more complicated until they formed simple single celled organisms. These eventually formed multi-cellular animals until the first primitive plants and animals evolved. Everything since then has evolved from these animals.

We know this happened because some amazing science – We share 50% of our DNA with bananas! So therefore, you would have to go back in time billions of years to find a common ancestor between humans and bananas, but we have both emerged from the same family tree, the tree of life, and that is why we a share common characteristic!

      Hi,

Yes! All life is related. 3.5 billion years ago the first life forms evolved in the oceans and over the past several billion years these life forms have evolved into every life form on the planet. So we are related to apes, and dogs, and fish, and lizards, and plants, and bacteria. Everything has a common ancestor!
