      Hello yangtze3,

String theory is very complicated! I don’t work in physics and don’t know too much about it myself, but my basic understanding of it is the effect that gravity has on the behavior of individual parts of an atom, such as electrons.

This blog might be able to answer your question: http://www.nuclecu.unam.mx/~alberto/physics/string.html

if not why don’t you ask a scientist in the physics zone? /particlem15-zone/

      Hi,

Like Thomas I am not a physicist, the deepest I have ventured into physics is a course on bio-physics in the first year of my PhD. But what I understand is that it is one possible explanation of what makes up the things that make up atoms. I would recommend that you check out the Physics Zone, they will have much better answers for you!
