      Simple:

      Work hard,
      Trust in yourself,
      Be passionate about your science,
Don’t believe anyone who says you can’t do it,
Read, read and read more (especially about medicine),
try to get work experience as soon as possible (volunteering is always good)
and make sure it says fun!

I wish you all the best in chasing your dream!

      Hi,

My advice is the same as Thomas’ but I want to add two more things, be endlessly curious. The best scientists and doctors are always curious about something. If you develop your love of finding things out you will go very far.

The MOST important advice I can give you is to never tell yourself you can’t do it! When I was applying to Oxford I often thought that they were just going to say no and that would be that and I almost didn’t apply, but I figured the worst that would happen was that they would say no, so I sent in my application. And you know what? They said YES!

It was a dream come true, so never take yourself out of the running. Always put yourself forward for the things that you want. Who knows, you could win! Losing isn’t a bad thing, but not taking part means that you can never win!
