Question: Why did we use to be monkeys and how did we evolved. @adam

Humans and monkeys have what is called a common ancestor when we used to be the same but monkeys stayed in areas with lots of trees while our human ancestors moved into wide spaces with fewer trees. So, monkeys learnt how to swing through trees and we learnt to walk!
